Major Gifts Strategy

I will help you launch a high-performing major gifts program by starting with an intake session to understand your team’s unique needs, tools, and strengths. I will review and evaluate your team’s existing tactics and offer new solutions using your organization’s donor data and trusted moves management strategies. I will coach your team through each step, equipping them to cultivate, solicit, and steward your donor base effectively. After our work together, your team will have the tools, skills, and intel to sustain your major gifts program.

Appeal Writing

Your organization’s annual fund is critical revenue that you can rely on year after year. Keeping your organization’s branding and messaging at the fore, I will help you craft compelling and persuasive appeal letters, which will both educate your donor base about your impactful work and encourage them to make a meaningful annual contribution.

Development Planning

A thriving fundraising program starts with a detailed and actionable plan. I will help you determine the right departmental goals to fit your development team, as well as the objectives and specific tactics to get there. After our work together, you will have a clear roadmap for your year ahead, broken down into steps that are achievable and motivating.

Board Coaching

Your organization’s Board of Directors and Development Committee are your closest, most trusted volunteers and donors. Harnessing your Board’s giving and soliciting capacity is essential to a successful development function. I provide Board training to teach essential fundraising skills such as prospect development, persuasive communication, gift solicitation, and stewardship. I will help your Board overcome fundraising fears and objections so that they can be effective ambassadors and fundraisers for your mission.

“Betsy’s genuine interest in getting to know people at their deepest levels is a huge asset in helping them get comfortable with fundraising and finding a path that best leverages their unique combination of skills, interests, and current and potential resources.”
